The portrait from the Paths home series – Alter do Chão – was inspired by shale/sandstone slabs, as well as other artifacts found by Professor Jorge Oliveira's archaeological team at the Alter do Chão Stud Farm.

The work emerged from a process of reinterpretation and artistic creation, focusing on the local culture of the first agro-pastoral communities and exploring connections with prehistory and spirituality.
